Jack McClory well ive done a few myself . Today was at customers doing something for them so while looking at new deck guy built it using old 4 x4 post from old deck then where deck is larger he used 2 x10 s and then where boards running from ledger board he just put in few screws into old 4 x4 s. There's completely no real true support here. Tried telling customer put 20 people on this 18 x18 deck 6 ft off ground dont be surprised if collapsed
