I took my car to the Midas on North Atherton for an inspection once. They didn't screw me on the inspection so I usually assume a place is good on that merit. Told me I needed brakes (which I did) and showed me why (they were/are pretty much on their last leg). Some places would have told me I needed brakes or fail so I appreciated their honesty at least that I needed them, but not to pass.

I recommend Graham's Exxon on S. Allen, they are honest dudes who won't snake you.

I took my 95 Eclipse to [Dicks](http://maps.google.com/maps/place?oe=utf-8&rls=org.mozilla:en-US:official&client=firefox-a&um=1&ie=UTF-8&q=dicks+auto&fb=1&gl=us&hq=dicks+auto&hnear=0 x89 cea899 c13 bdb73:0 x9 ce1 c6 c2833 c8091,State+College,+PA&cid=17892176674076461399) To have my R & L tie rods and R & L lower Ball joints replaced. He got it finished in one day with super fair pricing. I would totally suggest going to him. The only negative about him he doesn't do electrical work.

I take my car frequently to [Fisher's Auto Centre](http://www.yelp.com/biz/fischers-auto-centre-state-college). Always had good service and the people are personable. Rates are reasonable too.
I go to Jason Banks on Fairgrounds Road. He's awesome! He use to work for Chris and went out on his own. He could've ripped me off several times but doesn't. In fact, he's looked at my car when its been acting funny, tweaked it, and refused to charge me saying he " didn't do anything." Seriously! Amazing! Oh! He texts too so I can always get ahold of him and he'll call or text when my car is done. NYE my check engine light came on while I was in town, I texted him, and he said to bring it right over. Love him! His number is 814-599-5364 for anyone interested.

Why State College? a reference for someone else? Heather, name names! Is it Chris Fisher? We have Hank at A1 Auto in McAlevys Fort. He keeps our old cars running well.

I took my old car to Traditional Auto. They suck at returning calls and scheduling but they do great work. Otherwise I use Sutliff on Atherton St. GW is good for body work
Hi everybody.
I'm currently looking for join night course to learn welding or mechanic.
Does anybody know where I can do it or training me up.
Anybody can help me...
Can anyone recommend a good auto mechanic/place? Have a problem with my 2001 Chrysler Town and Country that local Chrysler has not been able to solve.

Tennis Towing. It's the only place I take my cars.
Cindy W. replied:
Tire Town has always been helpful and honest with us. Saved me $$, too, when they said they couldn't match the price on some Michelin tires that I found elsewhere.

We had a complete tuneup done on my '99 Taurus at Stark's Auto Service on W College and were very impressed and pleased. But it's difficult to suggest a place without knowing the nature of your problem.

Tire Town has always been reliable and honest for us, Diana. I have a friend who takes her car to Strubles and gets good service there. They took care of a problem that would've cost hundreds of dollars at a dealer.

When I first came to State College with an older model Chrysler, mechanics at my work recoimmended Gemini Tamir on College just past the Bicycle Shoppe. He seems to be pretty good, but has absolutely no bedside manner - think Soup Nazi from the Seinfeld show. About every other visit I would be so ticked off I would vow never to go back. I just got a new car with an extended waranty, so I have a few years to find a good mechanic with more customer service skills.
