Look at Villa Stella Del Mar on the Island West Realty website. Very nice 1 bedroom, 2 bath rooftop terrace. Quiet neigborhood. Directly on the water& swiming/snorkeling. 5 minutes from downtown. Beautiful, beautiful, beautiful. 200 per night. It also has full ac, backup generator and water tank.

Hotel Villa Cofresi is the best in Rincon. I have been going there for years and have always had a great time. The staff is great, close walk to town, rooms are clean and well maintained. Villa Cofresi is not the most expensive hotel in Rincon but it is the best or my favorite.

As someone who does not live there and is taking a trip in April for the first time.. I'll tell you what my plan is.. We are flying into SJU, reserved a rental car through Charlie Car Rental, driving to Rincon, and staying at a property we booked via airbnb. My understanding is that you'll want a car to get around.

Can recommend Coconut Palms Inn in Stella. Can walk to Villa Cofresi on the beach. You would need a car to get to surfing spot (10 min drive) but they are RIGHT on the beach. Room with microwave/fridge start around $100. Have stayed there many times and love it.

Marriott hotels welcome dogs. There is a kind of expensive Courtyard Marriott right in Isla Verde by the airport, and there is an inexpensive Courtyard Marriott in Miramar.
