That's not good to give them benadryl every time they go outside,that would make them go to sleep. My My Merry Messy Life, has great recipes for mosquito repellent, and all kinds of other natural stuff to make ;-)

Vitamin B is supposed to repel mozies if ingested before the bite and bathing in that "Avon skin so soft "as a prevention, might help

I use Tea Tree oil dabbed on the bite or rubbed on exposed limbs before going outside as a preventitive.
