Make sure you're repairing something that's worth the cost of the repair. My '01 Honda Civic got the boot for a head gasket ($1200)@178K, and there may be other stuff waiting to go. I'd have them inspect it fully, before dumping anything more than $500 into it. :/ Hondas are great (all I will drive), but are known for various issues, after 10 years (e.g., burning oil after 100K is a big one).
