I went to legal aid and wasn't charged 260.00 for a phone call. They have been great to deal with. I have a great lawyer, Robert Oxman. And Seal Nalliuh is good too

Thanks everyone. It sounds like I need a law firm in Alberta. In BC lawyers can notarize docs too, but there is a whole mid-level profession of Notaries. I had heard from a lawyer friend there that they are less common in Alberta. The AMA, courthouse, etc has commissioners of oath, which is good for the Canadian travel form, but not for the Girl Guide form. (Insert eye-roll.). Sounds like I have lots of options with law firms and the suggestion to try the lawyers we use anyway because they might help out since we're already clients is a good one. It's worth asking. I appreciate the info.
