I don't know if she can do wedding dresses, but I've always brought things I needed altered to Betty Jane's, on Brewerton Rd. in Mattydale. It's a really small place, owned by a mother and daughter, and their prices are super reasonable. Not sure if she does wedding dresses, but I brought my prom dress there for small alterations a few years ago.

If you're in the Fayetteville area, I've always gone to 5 Star Tailoring. I think they're wonderful. I've never had a wedding dress, so I've never had on tailored there. But, they did all of my prom dresses in high school (a million years ago) and a couple of bridesmaid dresses. My mother also takes a lot of her stuff there. I do know a woman who does tailoring out of her home and I know for a fact that she's done a lot of wedding dresses. If you PM me, I'll give you her info.

Overstock.com has great prices on starter machines! They have a lot of refurbished ones at well that are knocked down hundreds of dollars. Just be mindful of the reviews on some of them, but that is the cheapest place I've found so far!
