Hi everyone, I am new to Takamatsu. I am wondering if anyone is selling any weights (barbells or dumbells) from 5-50/60 pounds (2.5-33 kilos?). Or if anyone knows of a...

don't have weights for sale, but i often use amazon.co.jp for shopping needs. shipping tends to be really cheap or free, and it's quite easy to browse (especially with automatic translating in Chrome or whatever else. otherwise, you can type the english word into google translate then search for the japanese word on amazon). or, i'm sure that there are many local stores you can buy stores from, like the one stephen mentioned above. as for gyms, i have been to 3: Joy Fit and Refco near Youme Town, and the local Kagawa Town Gym in the south. there are a bunch of other gyms that i'm sure others can comment on (like the Takamatsu City Gym which I haven't been to). If you're looking for weights, Refco is better than Joy Fit, though a bit more expensive (6000-7000 per month at Ref, around 5000 a month at Joy Fit iirc). Refco also has a pool. Joy Fit tends to focus more on running (many cardio machines) and instructional classes. Refco is more of the whole package. The local city gym I go to now is only 400 yen a pop, but the place is quite small (and it's about a 20-30 minute drive from the city). I mostly go there because it's closer to me. you will almost definitely have to go with a japanese speaker as the initial contract has a lot of japanese, and they painstakingly go through every part of it. set aside at least 30 minutes for what should take half the time. also, if you have a tattoo, say that you don't because most gyms won't let you join if you have one (really stupid rule). always make sure to cover it up if you go there. also, many places will have a promotion on that gives you the first few months to year at a reduced rate. definitely get in on that.
