Thomas Toth: Bleachers are rented temporarily for now. Fund raising for the future. Lets get a big crowd for the Woodward summer dance at Centennial Terrace on August 9. (See Linda Edelman's post below for details). We will also have customized paver bricks that can be purchased (similar to the ones around Mud Hens stadium) that will be located just inside the stadium entrance gates. All proceeds go to the Stadium fund.

Looking for some advice. I developed IT Band Syndrome last April when training for the GC 1/2 Marathon. I started PT, strengthening/stretching, was back running 4 miles...
Tracy B. replied:
I have not had any IT problems yet but I've read somewhere that ART (active release therapy) works. I was looking at it today for other issues and only a few places do it in toledo. http://www.activerelease.com/

I'm still battling it myself. Yoga's been good for me. Also, I had my running style analyzed by Joe Sparks at Hot Yoga with Joe. He's a POSE method instructor. Very, very helpful. Also, here's what Bree Simon suggested to me awhile back when I asked the same question: Hi Ryan! In general, at least in my opinion, IT issues are usually related to the hip muscles and a need to strengthen the outer side of the hip muscles. As runners, we have really strong thighs and often we power through things using our thighs and our hip muscles get badly neglected. Two of the stretches/yoga poses that I would really recommend are pigeon (which may be too intense for you, depending on the degree of discomfort that you are having) and thread the needle. Neither of them are particularly easy to explain in writing. But, this video is not bad in how they show it. I do pigeon slightly different, but the general gist is the same. www.youtube.com/watch?v=c9 aJtO0VCqwwww.youtube.com/watch?v=c9 aJtO0VCqw Let me know if pigeon is uncomfortable and if it is, I will think of some ways to modify it down for you. I developed ITB during the Mohican 50 mile trail race in June. I did these hard core and was back running tons of miles in about a month. Plus I added walking on a treadmill with the incline all the way up. Good luck! http://strengthrunning.com/2011/02/the-itb-rehab-routine-video-demonstration/
Tammy L. replied:
Doug - Where did you have the ART treatments? I'm looking at Dr. Diapolo. Any thoughts?
Douglas M. replied:
Thanks Tom! Tammy: I went to Dr. Diapolo. He seems to really know his stuff, and he won't drag out your treatments. I was really impressed with his examination and overall approach. The main quirk is he doesn't accept insurance, so you have to pay out of pocket and process your own claims. Good Luck!

Any recommendations for good balaclava that does not smash your nose? Mine has the band that goes across the nose. It feels too tight, and the steam fogs my glasses.
Amanda M. replied:
I know folks who have this one - For me I try to go as simple in the design so that I can move it up and down over my nose because I have the same foggy glasses issue. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00S0YA5GM/ref=dp_sp_detail?psc=1

William W. replied:
I suppose it was just my observations Jane. I remember at The Clash Rainbow gig of 1977 there were, to my memory and eyes of the time, very few "recognisable" punks in the audience. I guess we all have our own take on these things.
William W. replied:
I am not talking about the Cartoon punk look exclusively. I am talking about the DIY punk look, the torn shirts and the stencilled shirts etc. I, by the way, looked like Eric Bloom { the BOC's singer, for better or worse...it was accidental actually:) ) I refused to conform to any look really, but that's by the by. There were gigs in 76 and 77, even 78, when there were still perms in the audience { and they were the guys ) As i said this is not a mandate for opinion just my memories, which of that time { arguably the best time in my view ) are pretty vivid. However that's life, we all see different things in it.:)
