Anyone know of a gym/personal trainer who works with autistic children (in our case, high functioning)? Our occupational therapist has recommended we try finding one.

I would talk to Dewey at IMPACT Performance Training. He is becoming world famous and we are lucky enough to have him. I think that if he didn't have the skills he would know where to find them.

Here's a thought. Autistic children and horses (other animals too) relate to each other. We have some at Nadeau Equestrian Center on North Valley Rd. That love the kids.

Ok. Sorry for taking so long to get back! My friend and I were finally able to connect. While he has not had past experience in working with children diagnosed with autism, however has worked with children and would love the opportunity to do this. You can reach him through FB: https://www.facebook.com/jason.ronnow or through "Fitness Together" in Tualatin. I hope that this helps!

Oops, just realized I posted this to the wrong Newberg group. Sorry! Jamie and Christine, I'll be moving this over to the Newberg Discussion group... Christine, thank you!

We do animal therapy with autistic children and adults, and have LOTS of fun workout activities (mucking stalls, digging trenches, hauling bricks/rock, lol). www.facebook.com/heart2 heartfarms
