Does anyone know (carpenters, builders etc) how to calculate lineal metres of timber for internal timber stud walls? I'm trying to work out budgets & costs. Thanks ☺

OK I assume your talking of a container. Nothing in the internal frame of a container house is structural - the container does that bit. So normal rules need not apply. Standard framing is 90x35 for general studs. Door, Window Studs and top bottom plates are 90x45. In certain circumstances 70x35 and 70x45 are used. In my case the ceiling is 90x35 for side rails and ceiling joists - to prevent sag over 2400mm span. The walls use 70x35 for studs and plates. As mine is pine linned - no noggens are nessecery - linning does same job. Older building put studs at 450mm (18"), 500mm is fine. rough estimate 2 per meter plus extra at end. But you will need extra studs at wall intersections so there is something to fix lining to. Will try and find some pics.
