Point of Sale, Inventory, product manufacturing cost recommendations Howdy,
My wife owns a small business beauty salon and manufactures her own line of hair products....

Check out the community edition of [Odoo](http://odoo.com). It can handle POS, inventory, and manufacturing.

Check out Booker. I worked in POS for a bit and started through their job process but passed for various reasons. The software is well regarded among beauty professionals but I have no idea what the price is like.
For "parts and manufacturing" you could actually use QuickBooks entirely. You can break things down into components and figure out costs. Your accountant will worship you too.
Also, if you haven't looked into Square, give that a shot. They are pretty ubiquitous. Don't try to complicate your listings. If you want to differentiate a... shampoo different from a shampoo plus conditioner package, just call them different SKUs and track it that way.
Finally don't ignore e-commerce solutions from BigCommerce and Shopify. The difference between e-commerce and POS is relatively small, with e-commerce software having a ton of functionality and supporting a website as well. They also integrate with QuickBooks.

If you find you need a mobile Point-of-Sale device for bar-code scanning / stock checking I have a few Motorola MC70 handsets (which I see all the time in shops around my area) available at quite a discount, PM me if you're interested.

I've always been on here advocating unicenta pos it's free. I also set it up for a beauty supply store and had it configured so that she could know where all the different wigs were kept.

Hi You might want to try https://belliatasalonsoftware.com/beauty-salon-software which has most of the requirements you mentioned, including the POSm product sales and services in your wife's beauty slaon. You might have issue finding one solution to do the manufacturing stock management as well, as it is quite a differnet process stream.
