Pure Motorsport is supposedly pretty good. I was going to start going there for scheduled maintenance but surprisingly the dealer (VW Kearny Mesa in particular) ended up being cheaper. Disclaimer: I own a 2012 GTI, so it may be different for your car.

Any RCI accredited workshop should be good enough. I recommend you try [Motolek Stikland](http://i.imgur.com/31NzgCY.png). Good labour rates and they don't beat around the bush. If something is wrong they will tell you straight up. I have heard some horror stories about dealerships just covering shit up but still charging people for it.
