Help a sister out? I need the name of a libel lawyer in Victoria or Vancouver. Thank you! :)

Rick Sugden...good but expensive. Then again you could get the one Laura Robinson is using to sue John Furlong.
Chris S. replied:
Zoe: remember, few lawyers do this pro bono. Hence, it will cost a lot...and you never really know the outcome in advance. Best case, you win...how much you get is separate from winning...could be nothing, just the point that you won. Worst case, you lose and the court has you paying the other side's legal fees (they will for sure ask for this for sure and even if you have no assets, they can make sure that in the future you won't either). And then there is everything in between. Find a good lawyer, one who will tell you the realities of what will likely happen, the time frame (years usually), the costs $10 s of thousands) and the reality that a suit may make the defamation worse because it makes it more public. Also. look up the fairly recent defense that the Georgia Straight used against Furlong. Basically, they claimed that they had reason to believe it to be true and that as a news organization it was fair to report their honest belief. Ezra Dumbass' lawyers will surely use this...and it is something to be aware of.
