Dr. Morales is Mami's doctor SMS he is awesome. I see doctor Candace Vaughn and She is good, too. I don't know if either accept Medicaid, though.
Who do you recommend as a family doctor (James and me)? Looking for someone good and easy to make a appt with. Basically somewhere like primary pediatrics for adults.
Kathryn S. replied:
I think she can see anyone. They are excellent about getting appointments too! http://local.yahoo.com/info-45614631-vaughn-candace-md-taylor-physician-s-annex-kathleen
Mike S. replied:
Caryl and I go to Dr. Kirk and his wife Gina, in Byron across from the Byron Baptist Church. A Christian family practice. His dad was the pastor at BBC for many years. Good people.

I'm directly in this field, and 95% of physicians use a hospitalist to treat their in hospital patients. It's the way of healthcare now- cost saving mechanism. So don't let that steer you from using someone good who may not have privileges at a hospital. Dr Steven Wilson in WR is a Christian and is wonderful. He also has a female NP-C who is a Christian. Msg me and I can tell you about anyone Been calling on all of them for 7 years!
Sarah K. replied:
I love Dr. Vaughn -- and I really like her nurse practitioner as well -- I've never had a problem getting an appt for urgent issues.
Michael-Michelle B. replied:
We love Dr. James Walker in Perry. He is a Christian man and really takes time with his patients. Kathy Grossman worked in his office and you could ask her about him. You might have to wait a little while to see Dr. Walker, but he is worth it. As far as emergency visits and sick visits he is always good about getting us in. We've been using him for almost 11 years now and we love him!
Rhea W. replied:
I go to Dr. James Walker in Perry, GA. He is a Christian and has a lot of common sense and is used to working with those of us with high ($5,500) deductibiles.
Kathryn S. replied:
Dr. Candace Vaughn is amazing! Several ladies from our church see her too.
Scott T. replied:
We really like Dr James T Walker in Perry. Great Christian man and very good doctor
Michael-Michelle B. replied:
Dr. Walker is very good about getting us in if we are sick. He does have a lab in his office but I think they send some things out to Perry Hospital (right down the road). He doesn't have after hours care or weekends but he does have a number you can call if you need help and they are good about getting back to you. For after hours or x rays we typically go to a Med-Stop then follow up with him as needed.
Sarah K. replied:
You'll probably have a pretty hard time finding a doctor who sees patients on the weekends who isn't in an urgent care facility like a MedStop. Most doctors don't keep X-ray machines in their office as it's not a good investment financially for them, but some do. You may find a very large group practice though that does simple X-rays and has advanced lab testing on site (blood counts, chemistry panel) if you look hard enough. Dr. Vaughn or her ARNP has always gotten me in the same day for urgent problems/sick visits. Most primary care docs will draw your blood and send it out to a lab/hospital, but have the ability to run tests in-office like urinalysis, strep, etc. (Dr. Vaughn does it that way -- she does not do X-rays in her office). Hope you can find what your looking for -- have you gotten a list of preferred providers from your ins. co.? That's always helpful
Beth K. replied:
Good idea Sarah to get a list of preferred providers. We must be "spoiled" as our current office - Rutland family healthcare has a xray machine and lab on site. As well as open for urgent care on weekends. I have always had that at my doctors offices up north and then at the one here we went to. Our current doctor left our facility and that leaves only one doc and nurse practitioners so they are just swamped and it is hard to get a appt with a actual doctor you have to see a nurse practitioner. Thought there must be more like this around but maybe not. I am going to look into the ones mentioned above. Really interested in Dr. Walker, Dr. Wilson and Dr. Vaughn as they were all highly recommended to me by someone in the field.
Can anybody recommend a doctor for young adults? Sean needs a new doctor since he is too old for the pediatrician. The one that was recommended is in Perry and can't see...
Linda R. replied:
Rodrigo Moralis on Osigan Blvd. He is a pulmonary doc but also GP. I started seeing him for asthma but he became my regular doc. No long waits, wonderful office staff too.
Cindy H. replied:
My question is which one of those doctors will do inpatient care if the need were to come up? A lot of doctors don't. I know Dr Campbell doesn't and several others. Not sure about you all but I'd like my doctor to treat me if I was an inpatient and in a bad way. We are still looking. The one on Houston Lake I'm not overly impressed with. Will mention no names.
Bob J. replied:
Cyndee, Scott Edenfield is a great Doc and a great guy. His office hours are usually evening or late evening. He doesn't rush you and he is very through.
Cyndee O. replied:
Oh I know he is a great doctor. I have a lot of respect for him. We just can't do the wee hours appts. I got him in next week with Dr. Baggett. I hope he likes him.
Billie D. replied:
I see Dr Baggett!! Really like him!!!
Gloria S. replied:
Dr. Alwawi is excellent!!
Lisa H. replied:
There is a good PAin Cochran and her name is Amy Cravey, she is excellent.
Patti H. replied:
Dr Alwawi is ours, like him real well he was amazing to my father
Carlene K. replied:
I like my new Dr Ravi Shekarappa, and there is little wait when you go to see him!
Amanda C. replied:
Dr. Baggett is awesome. He is in his mid 40's.
Cyndee O. replied:
Dr. Hamm was recommended but with Sean's schedule we can't figure out a time. Maybe I will try again.
Nikki G. replied:
Dr. Kirk in Byron
Jane W. replied:
I like Dr. Becky Campbell; however, he might prefer a man.
Kathy G. replied:
I really like Steven Wilson and he's right down the road from your shop
Cyndee O. replied:
I think I will check with Dr. Baggett because I have heard his name from a few people and his office is close. Sean is going by himself--sniff, sniff-- so it will be up to him if he likes him or not. If not, the search continues.
Kaitlyn M. replied:
Dr. Tayag
Cindy G. replied:
Don't know who was recommended in Perry, but when we lived in Perry we used Dr Brantley and Dr Hamm. Our kids thought Dr Hamm hung the moon!! We loved him too
Cyndee O. replied:
I go to Dr. Christina Tayag. But she and her husband specialize in geriatric medicine for older people. Sean wants somebody younger.
Cindy H. replied:
So which of these doctors does inpatient visits? Does Dr Baggett or Dr. Alwawi?
