Hello All,
Anyone please recommend me a Doctor or a surgeon who can make skin white. Living in Poland for about 2 years, I am realising that no one like black or brown...

That's an extremely stupid idea. If you are looking for new and friendly people\friends try the Tandem evenings. Easy going socialization if you behave properly and if you are able to have a nice\normal conversation. There are plenty of social events in waw and you can find them all on FB. You just need to try them and feel confident about your self, don't have the "racism thinking" in mind when you approach new people and don't behave like everyone must like you, like your self first, the rest will come alone. Take life like a card game, it's all about how you use\play your cards, cheating won't help you, such as skin color change. https://www.facebook.com/TandemEvening.Warszawa/

I went to LuxMed clinic next to Arkadia shopping centre and there were 2 receptions - one white, one darker. Most patients would approach white receptionist or wait for her when she was busy, even when another one was free. I was shocked, but then I had this reflection - many ppl here do not speak English or any other foreign language and they are afraid of interacting with someone looking like a foreigner. They are concerned that they wouldn't know what to say or how to say it. I witnessed it number of times, i.e. during fitness event I introduced a prospective client to a group of PTs. He was Asian director in one of big 4 companies and recently moved to Poland. He clearly expressed interest in working out regularly with a PT (that's why I called him prospect, not lead). I expected PTs to start fighting for this client, instead they backed off and suggested that he calls one upmarket gym in Mokotòw. It wasn't due to prejudice, it was language barrier which paralised them. I have friends who are not white, but speak perfect Polish, some of them were born here, but still get this reaction

Those are private providers. ZUS pays for the state system http://www.foreignersinpoland.com/health-insurance-in-poland/
Maggie G. replied:
Yes, you have to find your local "poradnia." But i question how you'll be able to use it if you dont have a PESEL. Unless you do in fact have a PESEL. http://www.zus.pl/o-zus/kontakt/oddzialy-inspektoraty-biura-terenowe/-/details/443
Magda O. replied:
But it you've got the info that you have ZUS, there is nothing that would suggest additional private health insurance. Check ER from Asia's link, or you can go to private ER and pay for the visit: https://cm.enel.pl/akcje/ortopedia-24 h/ And TBH I wouldn't be super optimistic with English speaking part.

Here you can check the waiting times and addresses of every public AND private office that has a contract with NFZ (ZUS insurance). http://kolejki.nfz.gov.pl Unfortunately there is no English version, but I think it's rather easy to figure out. If you don't have a PESEL number, they will use your passport number as identification. For GPs and dentists you just make an appointment and go. If you need to see a specialist, you need to go to GP first and they will give you a referral.

Anyone know a good English speaking PUBLIC doctor!? Thanks :-) all the ones I've attempted to go to speak no English. :-(
Val H. replied:
Hi Sarah Beth..Dr. Dorota is a family doctor wich I use with my family and it was recommended to me by some of my friends who live in warsaw for 3 yrs. She is very good and speak perfect english
Val H. replied:
Her phone number is 022 858 0101...you can call and speak to her receptionist who speaks English as well.
Nathalie B. replied:
Sarah - I wouldn't count on it. Try Luxmed, Medicover or something along those lines but there's practically no chance you'll find someone in the public healthcare system speaking English..
Jan S. replied:
Welcome to reality. You are looking for a PUBLIC doctor... If he has to treat you for free (i.e. "public") you'll be probably dead before he can see you. Also "public" doctors receive you privately. Same doctor, same building, same nurse, same furniture, same machines, same everything. Polish NFZ/National Heatlh Care is a joke.

I have visited Ortopedika a few times for consultation and physiotherapy. Diagnosis with doctor and x-ray and ultrasound etc. all done on site. They have three centers in Warsaw now and the doctors rotate around them so you can book one who specialises in knees. They are the ortho and physio specialists for people like the Polish National ski teams. http://www.ortopedika.pl
