I live in West Roxbury and climb at Rock Spot in Hyde Park. If you have any interest climbing there, I get free guests passes that I never use. You would only have to pay around $3 for shoe rental. PM me for more details.

If you can find a friend who has a membership to brooklyn boulders, you can get a guest pass and can bypass the whole training (to use the auto-belays etc.) for a day. you can't climb on the ropes, but if you just want to get a taste of it, it's a pretty good free way to do so.

The Gym Inc. I was there for a family wedding two years ago. It wasn't bad. I don't think it's got anything for strongman specific stuff though.
