Anyone know a good dog trainer? My Doberman is almost a year and I need help. (Not Petsmart) Please let me know. Thanks in advance.

Cesar Millan is actually a horrible trainer and his use of the "intimidation factor" and "alpha status" are complete BS and have poor results. He has had many lawsuits filed against him and many dogs have come out worse than they go in. Whichever tra iner you use, ask them if you can audit a few of their training sessions, ask around about them, ask if you can be involved with the training because you, as the owner, need to know how to work with and handle your dog when they act up. Training takes time and patience and more time. Your dog will slip up when you're not around the trainer so you need to know how to react in those situations.
I agree with the folks who recommend Becky Pulling Gaconnet at Dog Gone Good Dog. She gives advice here frequently and her techniques are always gentle. I've followed her advice with some of our foster dogs and had great results.

There's contact info on the DGG page linked above. We DO invite potential clients to visit a class. Our current class will be open to guests in a couple of weeks. We also do an in-home consult for a fairly small fee, giving everyone a chance to meet , see how the dog responds to our strategies, and discuss the best training plan to meet a client's goals. Services and fee information available at dggpettraining.com. Thanks for the kind words and the faith many of you have in us! We love what we do.
