I use O'Leary in Lakewood. I don't share your fear of dentists but he was recommended to me by a person who does. I've been going to his office for years and am totally satisfied with my care.

I've gone to the Hudec on Puritas on the west side a few times. The staff there is super friendly and they are really good about keeping appointment times on time so you aren't waiting a long time past your appointment.

I went to Hylan Dental last year after about 7 years without a dentist visit. After I had a panic attack during my initial exam, they gave me a prescription for Ativan to take when I came back. I ended up getting 19 fillings done over the next two visits and I honestly remember none of it lol.

Silvestro Family Dentistry in Middlebirg Heights. I just went for my first time and it was an emergency. I was absolutely blown away by their sweet, caring staff. Dr. Silvestro did everything in his power to make me comfortable and even let me nap! Highly recommended! Edit: No matter where you go or who you call just explain to them your fear. They can only help you he comfortable if you explain to them prior. It's not uncommon to be afraid of the dentist:)

What a great thread! I need to go to the dentist myself. I tried about a month ago. Got so nervous during the "inspection" part (they hadn't even started cleaning, just poking around) that my blood pressure shot up and I blacked out. They told me that they couldn't continue and I went home. So yeah, recommendations for a dentist where they basically knock you out the minute you walk in the door and you just wake up later will be helpful!

I was living in Cleveland for years before going to the dentist because of anxiety, and only went after a filling broke. I made an emergency appt with Dr Michael Johnson in Highland Heights and he, his techs, and receptionist were amazing, even when I was crying just trying to make the appt. He did a couple crowns for me and referred me to an excellent periodontist (Dr. Miguel Defina) who was also amazing to me. He prescribed anti-anxiety meds before the crowns which helped immensely. I needed a lot of dental work due to an eating disorder, and he and his assistants were incredibly non-judgemental.
