Hoping to find suggestions for local dog grooming places (not Petsmart or Petco) that could be considerate with an older dog who is getting more difficult to groom....

The Avon Lake Animal Clinic has a grooming salon. They are open on Saturdays and are very good with senior pets and their needs!!!! 440-933-5297! My four furkids see Brittany and Jackie, but they are all wonderful!

Jason at Paws and Effect in Rocky RIver on Center RIdge! Absolutely terrific with our dog and is open on Saturdays! DO NOT go to Cantrell's in Westlake....I will NEVER recommend them to anyone. They scratched my dog's eye and refused to admit it. Quite a hefty vet bill because of it!
Judy M. replied:
I love Paws and Effect in Rocky River. Jason is wonderful! My airedale loves going to their day care!

I love Cantrell's Grooming 27335 Detroit Ave. 440-835-2125

Avon Lake Animal Clinic Grooming (Many people put it on here as Paws By the Lake) which is the same place. Paws by the Lake is the boarding part of the Avon Animal Clinic

Cappi Lipaj Mercer - 10+ yr old female mini schnauzer. Also a rescue dog, but we've had her for almost 6 years and I think her attitude toward grooming is more age-related than anything else.
Cappi M. replied:
Jen Gross Horn ..if she was a golden, I'd be happy to groom her for you!:-)
Heidi L. replied:
Cantrells is great with older dogs (ours was 15 and they loved him)....Avon Lake Animal Care Center was also excellent but a little more pricey.

Suz's Furry Fashions, 1 (440) 934-3647, 36462 Mills RoadAvon, OH 44011... I've been using her for years. I got her name from the Landings animal hospital a long time ago and she was the only one he said he would recommend.
