We live in the Redland area as well. We moved here about 3 years ago and we had them in our house quite frequently. They are sooo creepy!! We called Browns Pest Control and ever since he sprayed our house, I seriously have not seen one since. Thank God. Lol

Be aware, there's a lot of misinformation and bad advice in many of these posts. This appears to be a Southern unstriped scorpion. They are virtually harmless, certainly less so than most chemicals used to get rid of them. Their sting reminds me of a sweat bee, which is very minor. I see one or two scorpions in my house a year seeking refuge from cold or rain. They are not an issue for me, as I just release them back outside..
