Ruth P. replied:
Hawkshead is great - 4 great pubs, post office, coop and chemist and lots of walks straight from the doorstep. Busy during the day - but quite magical in the evenings when it "relaxes" - for a great selection of holiday self catering cottages that welcome dogs try - www.lakeland-hideaways.co.uk015394 42435

If you find a b&b on booking.com etc then go online and get the phone number and call the b&b direct. You may get the room at a better price because the booking sites take between 15% and 20% off us b&b owners
