If you want the deck to last, you may want to use trex or other non-wooden decking. you can't get decent wood at home depot/lowes at any price. You also want to get the decking screwed down and even better blind screwed - http://www.camofasteners.com/ that will look better, last longer, but will cost a good bit more than them using airguns to bang in ring shank nails.

This guy (Bruce) seems to come well recommended: http://dreamodelingguy.com/ I had him come out to my place to quote a kitchen remodel. He was great to deal with. I ended up deciding to take on more of the work and essentially being my own general contractor. But if you have the budget and you want someone to handle everything, he's a great option!
