A couple of suggestions. If you have a display on the thermostat at least you have some power to it. Check the disconnect box by the compressor some of those have secondary fuses that could have blown. If you switch to heat mode can you make the system come on? That might indicate it is your thermostat unless it is a heat pump that has seized. If you buy a new one be sure you get an appropriate one. If you have an emergency heat indicator on the thermostat then you need a thermostat with two heats and one cool which is typical of heat pumps with electric backup. A new Honeywell with simple programming can be had for about $60. Service guys want about $250 for unit and installation. . If you have AC and a gas furnace you would have one heat and one cool and I have a spare one if you need it. Also be sure there is no a emergency cutoff switch usually with a red cover that got turned off by accident. That happened to us one time. Lastly I use J&K Heating and Air. Expect at least $150 for a service call and Freon if it is a old system is about $100 a half pound now due to the excise taxes. Also check under the thermostat cover on the circuit board and be sure there is no reset button. I found one of those recently I did not know existed and my system came on. If you are low on Freon, then the low pressure switch will keep it from coming on.

Through Lowes, Advantage Heating and Cooling. They do the Trane systems which are reputable, but they (The company) has iffy online reviews and a contradictory A+ BBB rating. Bud's heating and air conditioning is another who carries Lennox; Design Comfort, A-1 Advantage who I basically eliminated already, and RS Andrews.
