Bede and Mae Lau owned/ran The Showboat restaurant, one of my first server jobs in Yuma. I believe their son is now a doctor with a practice here in Yuma....I remember when he and his little brother were rugrats eating maraschino cherries at the bar when the restaurant was closed for the day!!!

Whole different type of BBQ. Cliff Brown slow cooked/smoked the best ribs for miles around and some times brisket. Covered and buried "pit" meat, while called BBQ really isn't. It's (oven) roasted cowboy style (you won't see it at any BBQ competitions), but is the best of that type of meat and outstanding in it's own right. My dad headed up the Crane BBQ in the 60 s for a couple of years as President of the PTA. -- 8-)
