I want to straighten my hair for Christmas. I've only had it straightened twice since my very first big chop in 2011 so clearly I'm deathly afraid of heat. Lol I'm extremely picky and cautious of who and what touches my head. I really need a good trim before my annual January braids... Stylist suggestions??
Disclaimer--- Natural hair salons preferably. Or someone who REALLY understands natural hair and my desire to keep my curls intact. My old stylist (from 2007-2010; I've been doing my own hair since my first chop in Oct '11) while GREAT, doesn't really grasp the fact that bone straight pressing, followed by 500 degree flat irons is NOT where I am mentally anymore. I care so much more about the health of my hair and avoiding heat damage than it being "laid". I love her, but she doesn't understand my point and it's importance. Which is fine!! Not everyone will get it. Somewhere down the road I'd like to be able to go back and forth between straight and heatless styles safely. With that being said I'm looking for someone else to turn to when I need salon services. Which is really seldom anyway. Like 2-3 times a year.
