Tracy Rae Cmt - well said!
Lynnie B. replied:
If one can not afford the PROPER care for a pet - which like Tracey stated above, can run approx $700-$3000 a year - one should NOT have a pet. That is preceisely why I have not adopted another dog, since losing my Sugar 2 years ago. No one says that u nedd to use the 'most expensive' vet, but should be more concerned withthe quality of care, than saving a few pennies. If one can not afford regular vet visits, shots, food, an preventative medications (like heartworm pills, etc. for a dog), that animal would NOT be better off in that family, no matter how mich 'love' they are given. Love does NOT equal the health of pet. I have lots of love to give, so should I go adopt a dog I can't afford tobcare fo, beacuse I can love it? Ohhhh - in that cae, maybe I should go have another child, too? Because I have A LOT of live to give. Sorry - anyone that believe it is ojay tk adopt a pet that u can not give the PROPER medical care to, because u can't afford it, or u think it's jay to pinch pennies because it's 'only a pet', is wrong. Most people that adopt pets and can not afford to take care of them, or don't want to spedd that kind of money taking care of them, adopt for selfish reasons. When u have a sick pet - or a sick child - u don't go shopping around for the best price in medical care. That is completely insane, and angers me to no end!!!
