Who remembers "The Cave" hair salon at Roosevelt Field in "Le Petite Mall"? If anyone does, here is a challenge.... find a picture.
Patty R. replied:
All of my sisters had their hair done by Carrie at The Cave:) L&H
Deb F. replied:
New York City-based Corporate Property Investors acquired the mall in 1973. In the next year, a small, Tudor-style section, known as LA PETITE MALL, came inline. This was an enclosed "mall within a mall" area, fitted into existing space in the southwest corner of the complex. It housed Baskin-Robbins Ice Cream, Hanan Yarn, The Cave Hair Salon, a Sanrio store (with lots of "Hello Kitty" stuffed animals) and a restaurant. Excerpt from Malls of the Past. Im still looking for a pic...

Jill Queripel Keesee...It's not much, but I came across two photos of le Petit Mall. One was at the entrance, and one is a diagram showing the layout. It doesn't list The Cave yet.
