Does anyone know of a good colorist who does like purple and blue highlights and stuff like that? I want to try it but I'm terrified to do it myself.
Erica K. replied:
Christine, the owner of Salon Urbane. Her Salon is next to Country Donuts. She does a great job and gave me fun purple!
Andrea F. replied:
Trendsetters on McLean. Karen R has done mine about 5 times with different primary colors. I've never been unsatisfied!!! She listens to what YOU want and how you want to feel/look when it's done. Good luck. It's a lot of fun!!!

Anyone recommend an affordable hair salon in Crystal Lake? I would like to get my hair layered.

Try Clip Joynt in Downtown CL. I have been going there for years and they do a really nice job with cuts/styles, plus it's affordable!

I'm with Katy Lynn - Cosmetology and Spa Institute is a wonderful place. I get my highlights and lowlights and it can run from $35-40. I have complete strangers telling me they love my color and asking where I get my hair done since I started going there!
Patty S. replied:
They can and you can also schedule on-line. http://cosmetologyandspainstitute.com/
Sarah C. replied:
Clip Joynt is wonderful, and if you can wait 'til Nov. 3 they're having a benefit for one of their stylists who has cancer.

Sarah Heyndericks-Safstrom at Salon 334 is the best!
Katy L. replied:
The Cosmetology and Spa Institute near the corner of 176 and Terra Cotta is cheap because it has students cutting the hair but they are always supervised and I've never had a bad cut here. If you want to treat yourself they also offer cheap manicures and other spa treatments.
Since I had sooo much luck with the hair stylist recommended to me on here, do you guys have any recommendations for an affordable & clean place to get a pedicure ?
