Hey stupid question, does anyone know a reasonable vet who fixes rabbits? My vet only does males (Carbondale Vet Hospital), I of course have a female. And the other...

Jennifer Erb I have 3 males all fixed, but I think my vet does females also. Dr.Pannick - Veterinary Medical Center 487-1650 (Rt 6 past the Viewmont Mall, before you get to Eynon/the old Sugarmans) I brought my 1 st boy there in 2005 then when I got my 2 nd boy in 2006. I was so happy with the vet that I took my 3 rd boy there when I got him in 2010. The last time I was there the surgery I think was $120, but I'm not sure if the prices are higher on females or not, may depend on how much more involved the surgery is. But you can call & ask. Good luck!
Dawn M. replied:
YW no problem. Yeah I hunted around when I got my 1 st boy & most vets won't do rabbits. Dr. Pannick was the only one at the time that I could find that would do it & didn't cost me a fortune. He explained that a lot of vets are afraid to fix rabbits cause their scared to take the chance because it's very different from a dog or cat. He said rabbits require a lot less anesthesia & the vet really needs to know what their doing. They were real good there about what to do & not to do the day of the surgery & all 3 did just fine. They even called the next day to check on them.
