I can't recommend someone, but I'd avoid apex plumbing. Terrible experience recently with them not finishing the work, and doing stuff I hadn't asked for. Way too expensive to charge $150/hr to send out someone who could barely sweat pipe

Tub drains and waste plumbing in general is simple, tackle this one yourself.

When I did tile work, our go to plumber was Almindo Plumbing in Delmar. One man show, always did great work.

I'm following for future reference! So far, this thread seems to be a "who to avoid....". For every positive review there's a negative. That's really shameful that this industry just can't provide consistent work/customer service.

I would avoid Bass and Farrell Bros. I was really happy with Crisafulli, but the last two times the techs were obviously brand new, they got things done but definitly not in the best way. One left a 5 gal bucket full of tools and parts, I tried a bunch of times to return them but he never followed up.

I would contact Crisafulli bros. I have been very happy with work I had done by them (added baseboard heaters to a formerly 3-season room, somewhat of a big project). You might be able to snake it out or use a draino/acid to clear it out, though. Might not even need a plumber.

Crissifulli (sp?)and Farrell Bros are outrageously expensive and apparently use the same standard pricing rates. Farrell brothers was 40 minutes late for an appt to quote. Quote was SO HIGH- we said thanks- and was charged $60 for his time/wasting ours. I was also recommended to call flow rite- afterwards. I was pumped with the quote and response time! However, they created a much larger problem and told me they couldn't fix it..so I had to start over and find someone else to fix what they did. Which ended up costing me more $. Flow rite- did swap out 2 kitchen faucets- which was fine..but left me with a brand new leaking bathroom faucet/ leaking new toilet and had hire someone else to install new hot & cold pipes in the wall! so I'd tread lightly here. They are good guys- they tried- but they are sewer (outside/in the ground) plumbers! If you have an old home with interior plumbing issues (walls/ceilings/ etc) - they may not be the right fit.

If it's old plumbing, I would avoid Crisafulli Bros. I paid to have a tech come out to fix a leak. He couldn't do the work because the fixtures were old but he scheduled Dan Crisafulli to come out and give me an estimate. A week later he sends me an estimate for an entire rebuild of my bath, and I still have a leak.
