When I found out I had type 2, it scared me pretty bad and I dove into research, trying to learn everything I could. I compiled it all into a blog post if you'd like to read it. It's pretty long, but I think very informative. http://unafragger.blogspot.com/2009/11/diabetes-research.html

Does anybody know of or can recommend a good Nutritionist in Rochester?
Laurie D. replied:
A good nutritionist would have you eating only clean food (organic), nothing processed, nothing with chemicals/preservatives/pesticides/herbicides or GMO's, and limit, if not get rid of, all dairy and gluten - even organic dairy and gluten. Eating whole, true foods, and seasoning with fresh herbs is the best nutrition anyone could get. Don't open cans or boxes or go to a freezer. Can save a boat load of money simply by eating true, whole foods, as we all should. Also, get on an organic, whole food vitamin - these are vitamins that are not created synthetically in a lab, but are from real food. Sorry - but there is no finer nutrition than this, except for learning exactly what foods heal what ailments, then that would be the best you can get! Green Med Info has a lot of information about how to heal with food and herbs and spices.
