  I stayed at The Metro Hotel based on a recommendation from someone in the SF subreddit - http://www.metrohotelsf.com/ Slightly smaller hotel rooms than normal, but awesome staff, and the bed and everything is great. I remember it being reasonably priced. No problems getting places by walking or taking public transit.

  Try the The Metro hotel. It's not too far away from the venue. You could even really walk there (probably like 15-20 min walk). Awesome prices. But with Outside Lands, it could be booked up. Worth a look though. And I have friends who regularly use Airbnb with great success in SF. http://www.metrohotelsf.com/
