HORROR STORY: Rude, Unprofessional, Condescending. Having moved into a home that needed a furnace fix, we saw on the furnace that 'Purdon's Heating' was the last team to service it.
Going against the recommendations of others, we decided to bring in this mickey-mouse organization to service our furnace. They first scheduled us for later in the day, only to arrive first thing in the morning. We should have initially taken this a the first red-flag.
They then continue to catch a potentially hazardous situation. Shutting down our gas to ensure they can fix it. WITHIN A WEEK, we were told, WINTHIN A WEEK! Excellent, we were thrilled....only to be left without heat for 2 weeks!!!
This is where things began to turn. The contractor who serviced the furnace then cleaned out the filter in our kitchen sink, leaving a huge mess. It gets better.
They had our gas shut off, which we asked WHEN we would have our heat again. To which we were told, the parts are IN we just need to pick them up. This was before their story began to change. Seemingly like politicians these people continue to mislead us on a timeline. Not to mention we had to call [x10] times to get an answer.
After finally pushing them in a voicemail, "stating we will go elsewhere." To our surprise, who decides to call us RETROACTIVELY, not PROACTIVELY, why its Purdons, who then tell us that the parts are not in. They have to order another part.
I was somewhat happy I now had an expectation, as the reality was so far from the initial promise. Having to push for an answer, the then said it was ordered. They told us they could try to repurpose a heat-exchanger, STUPID IDEA, there's potential for CO2 leaks, WHICH PUTS MY FAMILY AT RISK. Love how that was thought through. Real pros.
Calling again to get a timeline, I'm met with NO APPOLOGY. I'm then told that they didn't know when the part would come in. THEN WHY MISLEAD AND MISREPRESNT THE TIMELINE? Our expectations versus reality, were as close as the sun to the moon. WAY OFF. Just be HONEST.
Talking with their dispatcher again, she told me she would update me by then end of the day...to which we received crickets. So I called back the following morning, to be met with the voicemail....
FINAL STRAW: I get a call from a guy named Mike (combative as ever), this OF COURSE after I left a stern voicemail of our disappointing in the moving of the goal posts for timeline. We are cold and we want to know when we will have heat. Mike was not only combative but completely unable to take responsibility for the lack of communication and the misrepresentation of their ability to fix a furnace within the timeline HIS COMPANY TOLD US. He was rude, unwilling to come to grips with that fact that his mickey mouse organization can't pick up a phone and call a homeowner who's had their heat off for a week after telling US it would be FIXED in a week.
He wanted to argue, I don't have the time nor desire to argue about services you were supposed to render within the timeline YOU provided. Stating, "Go elsewhere, I could careless." Really warms the heart, cause there's nothing warm in our house.
I wanted to pay his company to fix our furnace. We were not given any idea of timelines until we called them after several days. Sad that we wanted to support a local business, now we're here sharing the HORROR story of this complete lack of professionalism and integrity. Yes, lets blame the homeowner for not knowing lead times on parts, after we were told they had them.
So now, we have no idea if/when we're getting the parts. The said they'll call when the part comes in. Now I don't believe them as they've shown through actions that they are uncapable of such. I don't care about your excuses, I don't care about why I should have known. I didn't know because I wasn't communicated properly, clearly or AT ALL and completely led astray with the ability of this company to tell the truth.
AVOID THEM AT ALL COSTS! Learned my lesson.
