Keep the Homeless Warm Dallas Bio KTHWD was founded in 2009 by myself Gustavo Vergara and fiancé Marissa Perez. We are home based and registered in the city of Dallas. Homelessness was something that hit home and we wanted to make a difference to start giving back. Our organization has grown over the last 5 years and we have partnered with the Dallas Life Foundation a homeless shelter in downtown Dallas for 2 years. We have helped over 200 family’s men, woman, and children with coats, blankets and hygiene items during the holiday season. We plan on working with them again this year to distribute those items to the residents. Every year our organization grows and we continue to get our name out there. Our mission is simple. Help those that are less fortunate. Help those who are forgotten. We strive to keep them warm by providing them with gently used or new coats and/or blankets, and provide them with hygiene kits that include; toothbrush, toothpaste, deodorant, shampoo, lotions, etc. We show them that there are people who care and want to make a difference in the community. Recently we coordinated a group of volunteers to feed the homeless. This was a very successful mission and we fed around 100 people. Last year 2013 we put a benefit show together to raise not only homelessness awareness but to collect new coats, blankets, and hygiene items. All funds from door entry went directly into our organizations cause. This was very successful, we are planning another benefit drive this year on October 19th at J. Pepes Restaurant 2720 N. Stemmons Freeway #100, 12-5pm. We are looking for sponsorship and/or items to be donated for our raffle. Our organization relies on the generosity of individuals like you, we can only achieve our goals with the assistance of the community. Without this help, serving those in our community would not be possible. We appreciate everyone’s support and involvement in our efforts to help the homeless in Dallas, Texas.
