  Hi everyone, I joined this group about a week ago and so far I am really happy I did! I enjoy the posts on here for the most part and the knowledge that is passed around about our community, thank you for that. It feels good to get a little more connected. On that note, I have a few questions. Do any of you know if there are any community gardens in the SH area (too much shade in my yard is making my garden a sad sight) Are there any local beef, poultry, pork ranchers that are humane and organic? I am also looking for a good local fresh egg supplier and possibly someone who does cow sharing for raw milk. and Is there any kind of local bartering system in place? Thanks for any suggestions or help. I buy almost everything out of town and I have been trying to change that mentality, I would like to shop more locally and support this community.

  I can only help you with the beef and pork part... J & H Cattle has the beef and pork you are looking for. They are out on Sauvie Island. They beef and pork 'Farm Boxes' every week that has a dozen eggs included. Check out their website because you don't have to do the Farm Box, you can do bigger orders. Tell em who sent you and I get a kick back (or so I have been told). We are getting a whole pig from them this year. Can't wait!
