  The best we've found are at the Intergalactic Diner: http://www.intergalacticdiner.com/. They have two locations. The one near us is at the Hotel Yugoslavia. Whenever I mention the place, one of my friends at BGFVC reports her bad experiences there, but I've been there lots of times and never had anything but an excellent experience. It's also relatively affordable.

  The salads are disappointing at Intergalactic Diner and I don't care for the chili. The pomfrits are okay but the onion rings -- you get two of them with every burger, perched lonely atop the pomfrits -- still taste of the freezer they spent the previous month in. But never mind all that. The burgers (beef, chicken, veggie) are superb. I like the Multiverse -- two beef patties, cheese, lettuce, barbecue sauce...and jalapeno rings!

  I 2 nd the vote for the Institute of Burgers, Pork, and Goulash. (Try the pulled pork if you don't get a burger!) But Toro Latin Gastrobar also has a fantastic burger. I'm not a fan of Intergalactic Diner's burgers, but we like to go there from time to time anyway just for ambiance (the kids like the tableside jukeboxes).
