Looking for a French bakery. Years ago, the best French bakery in town (maybe the only one) was actually a Vietnamese bakery across the street from Ralphs El Camino which is now Cassano's Pizza. Because France once colonized Vietnam, the Vietnamese became quite adept at French baking and cooking and this place was excellent for croissants both sweet and savory and for various sizes of French bread.
Now I don't know where to go. Surfin Donuts has decent croissants but no bread. I'd like to find a place that makes authentic loaves of baguette and the larger batard which is more suitable for sandwiches. As a student, I lived in France for a year and got spoiled there. :-)
Any ideas?
