  So... I'm planning to move to LA for 2-3 months starting in January. My hope is to make connections in the business at television and film industry events, parties, sports, and wherever else one can meet people. My question is... what part of town would be best to live in to increase my chances of making friends who work in the industry? Second question: what are the sources for looking for a place to live in LA? I'm thinking of renting an apartment, but if a long-term house-sit comes up I'd take it (I do a lot of house and pet sitting). Thanks for any helpful advice.

  Good info, Kelsey. I was at both DGA and WGA events a few months ago, but wasn't aware of the Meltdown/Nerdist School or the YouTube Space, so I'll have to check them out. I do have my short films available to see on my website www.keithdavidson.com but I should be working harder to add more content. That might be the best way to get attention from the right people. So good luck to you too re: breaking into television!
