Recommendations for HVAC contractors in area? My gas furnace is on it's last legs. Technically it is a furnace with AC, but the AC died 15 years ago. Now the blower motor/etc. is on it's way out. By the time I get the blower, ignitor, etc. replaced I may as well get the whole thing replaced with a new high-efficiency unit. Plus whoever installed this one (before I purchased the house) really messed up on the ductwork. Making the filter nearly impossible to replace. Plus it is an atypical filter size!
Anyone recommend a decent no-overselling contractor in the area? Any idea what I should expect in cost for a high-efficiency split heating/cooling? As an alternative I am considering a small heat-only gas unit (for the coldest days) and use very high efficiency minisplits for the day-to-day conditioning. It would make more effective zoning possible. I really do not use a lot of my space so zone control would be an energy-saving measure.

I used Barker's Heating and Air when my 25 year old furnace decided to die. A technician walked me through the options and explained the differences in efficiency rating. No pressure what so ever except my house was cold. I choose the second most efficient based on his recommendation. They were able to install it almost right away. Great bunch of people. The owner herself was at my house helping with the install. https://www.barkerhvac.com/
