  My daughter and I were in Rome,Venice and Florence in January. In Rome: We stayed at a B & B in the Trastevere area (beautiful old area across the river, short walk from the touristy area) called Loggetta di Trastevere. 2 rooms to rent in a flat, breakfast provided by a charming young host. Full fridge of beverages and snacks - and IMMACULATELY clean. 55 - 95 Euros per room. http://www.loggettaditrastevere.com/en/ In Venice: Small inn called Alla Vita Dorate. Another super clean accommodation with a very complete breakfast.
