Another question on the home buying theme. We have two recommendations for a mortgage consultant from people I trust to give good advice. One consultant charges a flat fee even if you don't end up choosing a mortgage through them. The other charges a higher fee but only if you actually choose one of their mortgages.
So, my question is - for those of you who have used mortgage consultants, have you ever found a mortgage at a better rate through another channel and in end not used the option you received from the mortgage consultant, and the other obvious question being - did the mortgage consultant really get you a significantly better rate?
Any input on pros/cons of using these services would be appreciated! thanks
