If I need to hire my own surveyor, any ideas about average cost? Less than an acre. I have a power line easement along the back and one side of the property. I'm wondering how far my property line runs into the trees so I know what is my responsibility and what isn't. Thanks!

  your deed probably has a written description and might have the plat attached. you can get a rough idea from that, especially if you can find a pin or landmark listed to start from. http://resolution.forsythco.com/External/LandRecords/protected/SrchQuickName.aspx or just call http://www.richardwebbandassociates.com/ and get it staked for about $300 probably.
