Hey has anyone had a guy named Freddy come by asking to replace all the light bulbs in your house for FREE? He says he is with Canby Utility but it seems weird.
Dee S. replied:
I also work for Canby Utility, we do offer a direct install proram. There are four men who work for Efficiency Services Group aka ESG. They have been working in Canby taking care of customers who have made appointments. What is happening is your friends and neighbors are referring them to you because it is a free service and also has energy savings benefits. You sre not undrr sny obligation to have them install any of tbeses services. Please call our office and we can schedule an appointment for anotjer date. 503-266-1156. The offer includes changing out all of your lights to a CFL light bulbs, shower heads and a power strip.

I would call the canby utility and ask them..pronto
Lindsay G. replied:
Oh, and two energy efficient shower heads. You can call canby utility directly and make an appointment to have them come out and do the same thing for free.
Jessica K. replied:
My only problem with it is there's nothing on the canby utility website talking about it
Lisa L. replied:
Because it is not Canby Utility doing it, they contracted it out. It is thru energy efficiency or something like that, it is totally legit.
Jackie J. replied:
I have time Monday am to call Canby utility to find out for sure so we all know.
Barb B. replied:
I work for Canby Utility. The only time someone will come out and offer to replace the light bulbs in your house is if you call us to schedule our energy conservation contractor to come do an energy audit. They will replace bulbs and shower heads as part of the energy efficiency program, but it is scheduled in advance. Melissa Wardwell Correction: They are doing cold calls from referrals. They will have ESG name tags, photo ID and Canby Utility business cards
Lisa L. replied:
He did STATE he was NOT with Canby Utility, but is with Energy Efficiency Group.
Amanda W. replied:
I called Canby Utility about it last week. They don't work for CU but are contracted out by them. It's thru some grant from the state. The 2 guys names are Freddy & Sal. They will replace bulbs, shower heads and give you 2 power strips. I was weary at first too until I called and confirmed it with CU. it's completely free!!
