I am a qualified nurse and a professional therapist and I have taught Holistic and Complementary Therapies for many years in a further education college.
I passionately believe in the concept of Complementary Therapies which work with conventional medicine to assist people in making the most of their lives. I am fully qualified and insured with the FHT and have the experience to tailor your treatment to your needs on the day I see you.
The therapies I offer (Reiki and Reflexology) work on the mind, body and spirit and help to create balance in a frantic world. They offer you time away from the daily stress and help you deal with your life with renewed vigour and enjoyment. I will never encourage you to use them in place of conventional medicine but rather use them alongside your current medication or treatment.
Reiki The word Reiki comes from two Japanese words Rei and Ki, which loosely translated means universal energy. It is a natural hands on method of channelling energy to allow the recipient to reduce stress levels and aid harmony and balance in the body. The treatment is usually carried out on a couch, but can be adapted for people sitting comfortably in a chair or a wheel chair. You will not need to remove any clothes, but are encouraged to wear warm, loose fitting and comfortable clothes as you may feel cooler after the treatment.
Reflexology Refdlexology works on two main principles which are that there are 10 energy zones which run through the body, which may develop blockages due to lifestyle influences, high stress levels or disease and that there is a reflex point for all organs and areas of the body which can be accessed easily through the hands and the feet. A reflexology treatment will include some questions to ascertain your general state of health at the moment and a foot treatment to encourage balance and reduce stress. You may also be shown some reflex points on the hands which you can use to treat... show more
