  Hello! Our car wouldn't start this morning, and our neighbor tried to help us jump it with no success. It has a decent amount of corrosion that needs to be cleaned off, and we may just need a new battery. But does anyone know more about this who may be able to take a look before we get it towed to a shop just to be told something very basic?? (Or, alternately, that it's not the battery?) Or, I guess, can anyone recommend a reliable car place that doesn't charge like crazy for the diagnostic part? Thanks!

  Hi--any recommendations for a good auto repair place/garage to fix my VW Golf? The fabulous Metric Systems in Cambridge, which specialized in VWs and other imports, has closed permanently. I'm avoiding 2 places in Arlington. Mal's on the Arlington/Lexington line nearly killed me by failing to align my tires, and by using less than the required number of wheel nuts. They also failed to use proper VW parts. Then after using Bruce's Tires on Dudley St, our front tire exploded the day after it had been installed: again, we were lucky we weren't killed. I may just go to the VW dealer, but that would be a more expensive option. Have VW owners in Arlington had any good experiences with local garages?
