About us
New Life Animal Rescue is a non-profit 501(c)3 organization, dedicated to rescuing homeless and abandoned animals, primarily dogs from high-kill shelters, abuse or neglect, and owners who can no longer care for them. We believe that true rescue begins at the moment of rescuing the dog, and continues through loving care, medical treatment and training, finding the perfect match for that particular animal and family, and follow-up after adoption.
We also serve as a resource to our local and internet community and all pet owners by providing education and information on responsible pet ownership, including the importance of spay/neuter, positive behavior training, and good nutrition.
We believe that a boarding kennel is no place for a loving, social creature like a dog to live for an extended period of time. All of our rescued animals are fostered in a home with a family, unless they require continuous veterinary care before being placed in a home. They are spayed or neutered before adoption, micro-chipped, behavior-evaluated, and up to date on all vaccinations.
Location: Southern New Jersey
A note from Kim, Founder and Director of New Life Animal Rescue, about the way "New Life" got started:
I am a Christian, so to me the number one priority in my life is to follow the Lord and His plan for me. I have always had a very special bond with animals, and even as a child lost and injured animals always seemed to find their way to me.
As my children grew out of toddlerhood and I found myself a single mom, I began volunteering and fostering for a few local animal rescues, all the while praying and asking the Lord to show me His plans for me. One of the toughest prayers for me to pray was when I began to ask the Lord to break my heart for what breaks His. He began to show me more of the suffering I was just beginning to see, and along with that heartache, he also showed me much bigger ways that I could help.
And so, New Life Animal Rescue was created. I chose the name "New Life"... show more
because it is a new life these rescued animals receive, just like we do when we accept the plans God has for us. We become a new creation, with a New Life.
Each time I rescue a new animal, and he becomes a "New Lifer" I pray over him, and pray for his perfect adopter. These animals never cease to amaze me. They always seem so relieved. So happy. So thankful.
Each one of them has a story that I wish they could tell me. Clearly some of them have lived a nightmare before being rescued, and the world is a very scary place. They may feel defensive. Any one of them could bite me if they wanted. They're afraid, in pain, hungry... But they choose not to...
If only people could learn to be so forgiving and so kind. show more
