Hi All, My family is embarking on a move from NYC to a house in the Westchester area and was curious if anyone had recommendations or tips for the best movers and moving process? We've used movers for NYC to NYC moves before and this is only 45 minutes away but figured I'd ask. Would also love to know people's experiences with movers during COVID. Did they were mask and follow safety protocols, etc?

All my friends are also tiny and weigh about half a potato chip each, so I'm not expecting a lot of muscle there. Shea was great at packing and unpacking stuff -- of course. They were great at handling people -- including me -- who are nervous and concerned about their things.   I used Shea Moving out of Jackson Heights, when I moved from JH up to Nyack 2 years ago. They were AMAZING. They'll give you a locked estimate. Where they will get you is with the extras, like boxes and such. But they'll also suggest up front that you get moving supplies from Home Depot, which will save you money.   We used http://sheamoving.com/ when we moved from Harlem to Brooklyn, and then again to load our truck when we moved to California. Obviously we liked them enough after the first time to hire them a second time, and they were equally great the second time, too. The owner will want to come to your place to do an in-home estimate. He's super friendly, and it's not nearly as awkward as it might seem. Also, because he's seen your place, he'll give you a not-to-exceed quote, which locks in your maximum expenses.
