For future reference, go to Heron's at the Umstead Resort or The Pit BBQ in Raleigh. Very familiar with the area.

I am a from the D living in Raleigh too! I second both Angus Barn and the Pit. The Pit is one if the top 10 BBQ places and Angus Barn is high rated and family owned!!

I live in NC, die hard Detroit fan, if you guys are in Raleigh already then some places you might not know about: Angus Barn (name speaks for itself) Bella Monica or Daniel's (Italian/Pizza) and The Pit (BBQ) Restaurants mentioned above are also good...aside from the obvious jokers. are all good choices. Enjoy your stay Wings.
