Dainty Delights Bakery started as a dream. After years of health issues, I found out I was intolerant to gluten. I will admit, I was bummed. It can be hard...especially on the go. But you adapt and you learn what works for you. But I grew up with a die hard sweet tooth. I baked in the past, but I knew I had to do it myself if I wanted something good and on a whim. After a few years of tests and fails and "Whoa! That's great! Are you sure that is gluten free?!?", here we are!
As someone who is gluten free, I know how hard it can be to find something good! I've tried many foods. Some have been completely fantastic and some have not been. It happens. I know baking gluten free can be hard! I am self taught, so I give an A for effort when someone tries. I know the Chicagoland area has been home to some amazing gluten free options, especially baked goods! I have a favorite (or two!) with almost all the places I love. And supporting small local businesses is a great thing to do! I love passing along good places and local "pro tips" to people who are looking for gluten free food (or just somewhere generally awesome)!
I do feel completely gracious that I have been able to do what I feel passionate about. I have been fortunate to be able to start small. I think that is important to build a good, solid business. I do rent a shared and dedicated gluten free kitchen space. This allows me more time to focus on all aspects of the business and keep my sanity. So, if you want to order some treats (which I hope you do!), please keep in mind I need a minimum of a week's notice for a special order. I want to make sure you get something fresh and delicious!
REGARDING SPECIAL ORDERS: -Everything I make is gluten free. I do a lot of dairy free in addition to the gluten free, and can do vegan options as well. -I do not bake out of a nut free facility, so please keep this in mind. A lot of the alternatives I use for dairy free and vegan are nut based. -I will try to accommodate any other... show more
allergies and sensitivities if I can, but I must be given notice at the time of order. -I also do use local ingredients, organic ingredients, and non-gmo ingredients as often as possible. -A minimum of 1 week is required for a special order. -If you would like to do a tasting for wedding cupcakes or a dessert table, please e-mail me for details at daintydelightsbakery@gmail.com.
Thank you for your support! I am happy to be able to provide sweet treats to all, but especially for the gluten free community.
Does anyone know of a bakery that does allergy free cakes? (I'm looking for a small smash cake to be made) I just don't think I have the time to try to make it myself. Thank you! ❤️
*edited to add: dairy free/egg free
Where can I get edible raw cookie dough in the Tri-cities area? Cookie Dough Creations in Naperville has it and it’s amazing but I’d like to find it closer. Batavia Creamery has it but it’s not as good.

Are there any local bakeries that do weekday deliveries?? I need to order a birthday cake/cupcake for someone but need it delivered because I will be out of state. Recommendations?
